Transitioning back into the community after incarceration is full of difficulties. For Anthony, overcoming challenges, such as learning technology and finding employment in a world vastly different from the one when he entered custody, included participating in our Foundations of Digital Literacy course.

With 21 employer partners in attendance, those looking for first jobs, part-time employment to supplement their income, or opportunities to climb the career ladder explored possibilities with the hopes of securing meaningful employment.

The JFS Vocational Training program supports personal skills growth with three different learning opportunities. On Monday, Dec. 18, we were honored to celebrate the graduation of the most recent Foundations of Digital Literacy class and share the successful completion of the course with participants.

For those hoping to find a new job, learn a new skill, or gain practical learning opportunities and hands-on experience, our JFS vocational training program is ready to take proficiencies to the next level. For one Digital Literacy student she not only learned new skills to support her current job responsibilities, her confidence grew along with her accomplishments.

Our JFS Job Fair was a success with job candidates who practiced their elevator pitches, had headshots taken for LinkedIn, learned about JFS programs and services, signed up for classes, and enjoyed lunch. Most important, however, was the opportunity for job seekers to apply and interview on-site for positions.
