Refugee Resettlement On-Call Support Volunteer 

Support newly arrived clients to meet their basic needs. Volunteers can sign up for tasks such as delivering items to client’s home, transporting clients to appointments or to purchase food and clothing, supporting clients with obtaining their state IDs or applying for social security cards, or providing community navigation support such as visiting local libraries with clients, practicing riding the bus with clients. 

Commitment: On-call/as needed. There is no firm time commitment for this volunteer position. Volunteers can volunteer for just this position, or they may volunteer in other capacities at JFS and opt in to receiving Resettlement Support Team emails with on-call volunteer opportunities. Tasks typically fall during weekday business hours but can include evenings and weekends. Frequent last-minute emails requesting volunteers is the norm. 

Additional Requirements: Background check, driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Ages 18 and older.
