When you make a donation to JFS, you help provide vital services to vulnerable families and individuals throughout Colorado. Every year, the agency serves thousands of individuals and impacts more than 26,000 people of all faiths, races, ages, incomes, and abilities.
Donations are not just monetary... we accept all types of gifts! Below is a variety of ways you can support the important work of JFS.
In-Kind Donations

Gifts of Stock
By giving appreciated securities you have owned for more than a year, you enhance your tax benefits. You receive a tax deduction for the value at the time of your gift, and you avoid the capital gains tax that you would have owed if you sold the stock.
Qualified Charitable Distribtion
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals aged 70½ or older to transfer up to $105,000 tax-free each year from their traditional IRA directly to a qualified charity. This distribution counts towards their required minimum distribution (RMD) if they are at least 73 years old, potentially lowering their taxable income and tax burden.
QCDs are excluded from your taxable income, meaning they don't increase your adjusted gross income (AGI). This can be beneficial if you want to avoid having your income pushed into a higher tax bracket or if you want to preserve other tax deductions or credits.
Instead of taking an RMD and then donating it to charity, you can instruct your IRA custodian to make a direct transfer to a qualified charity. This eliminates the need to report the distribution as income and then take a charitable deduction.

Donate New Home Supply Baskets
Donate new household items for individuals and families that have recently found housing through the JFS Rapid Rehousing program.
Donate Clothing
JFS partners with GGirls Closet, receiving 40% of the sales from donated women’s clothing and accessories. Donations are accepted at their location Tuesday - Saturday. Be sure to mention JFS when you drop off your items. A donation receipt will be provided for your records.
