Fight hygiene insecurity

There’s a hidden crisis we don’t talk about in our communities—and it’s everyone’s business. Period.

Hygiene insecurity is all around us—from girls who miss school because they don’t have access to adequate period products to families who can’t diaper their babies to our neighbors who miss work because they can’t afford toothpaste or soap—necessities that we take for granted every day that are not covered by federal programs like SNAP and WIC.

The good news is that you can make a difference during the High Holidays by donating to our Hygiene Essentials Drive. Your:

  • $18.00 donation gives a family of four toothpaste for a month to ensure healthy smiles.

  • $54.00 donation promotes security with one year of period products.

  • $72.00 donation provides one month of diapers and wipes for a baby’s well-being.

  • $180.00 donation supplies a family of four with toilet paper for four years.

Justice Necessary works to imagine and implement systemic and sustainable ways to address hygiene poverty in our community. Together with their partners, like JFS, they deliver personal care products to address immediate needs and create structures to ensure reliable access to essentials for our neglected neighbors.

Help us end hygiene inequity when you make a tax-deductible gift to unlock an $18,000 match from our generous friends, the Cushman Neal family, and their Justice Necessary initiative.
