December Featured Program - Weinberg Food Pantry

November was an unusually challenging and energizing month for JFS staff, volunteers, and the families we serve. In a typical year, we would have been focused on preparing our Thanksgiving distribution, which already brings in more than double our busiest pantry day. Instead, we also faced the sudden SNAP freeze, which created real fear and need across our community and impacted staff shortages. 

 We extended hours, distributed gift cards, and shifted our model practically overnight. You pivoted with us. You stayed longer, changed shifts, sorted mountains of donations, and helped keep things moving even while our mobile pantry team was short-staffed. 

 Because of you, we served 2,226 households, reached 6,141 people, and made sure 285 families had Thanksgiving essentials. The numbers matter, but your steadiness mattered more. Thank you for showing up and helping people eat.
