Turning darkness into light
A huge thank you to our partners, volunteers, staff, and donors who made this year’s Passover meal distribution possible! The holiday may be over, but thanks to everyone’s contributions, G’milut Hasadim, acts of loving kindness, will live on.
Our Denver and Boulder communities were touched by your generosity, which enabled us to serve 211 households by distributing traditional Passover food to help them celebrate. In addition, 197 homebound older adults received catered meals and food boxes. Fifty participants at our Denver JCC Community TabIe Lunch program enjoyed a seder, and 22 of our Kosher Meals on Wheels clients received six days of kosher for Passover catered meals, totaling 132 meals. In Boulder, more than 100 attendees participated in services at 11 older adult facilities, which was a meaningful and impactful experience.
Jewish economic vulnerability is all around us—from individuals who can’t pay for an unexpected car repair to families who are unable to afford their monthly rent or mortgage payment. Sometimes, these economic burdens cause Jews to lose their connection to the Jewish community, whether it’s by not being able to pay synagogue dues or participate in traditions, like Passover. Thanks to our supporters, we observed the holiday, strengthened the community, and helped combat hate and intolerance, which is critical now more than ever.
