A Creative Solution Leads to a Life-Changing Intervention
What started as an inquiry into signing “Jeffrey” up for homemaker services turned in to a life-changing intervention. Earlier this year, Jeffrey’s knee collapsed leaving him unable to move. He could barely get around his apartment and could not go anywhere on foot. Jeffrey was functionally immobile—even unable to acquire food—and had been living in a state of dire poverty for years. Fortunately his brother stepped in and contacted JFS Boulder. See how JFS helped Jeffrey get his life on track!

Mirella Schreiber, care manager and Holocaust services coordinator, is retiring on April 15 after nearly 24 years with JFS. While many aspects of her job, the agency, and the clients she serves have changed in that time, Mirella’s compassion, dedication, and love of helping others has not.

Counseling Services for Older Adults
JFS is now accepting new counseling clients age 65+. Older adults and their family members can often benefit from compassionate counseling to cope with life’s transitions and other issues that come with aging. Our therapists are licensed clinical social workers with a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Isaac Helps Make the Holidays Brighter for Local Families
Isaac Nieder, a seventh grader at Denver Jewish Day School, recently completed a mitzvah project for JFS in preparation for his upcoming bar mitzvah at Hebrew Educational Alliance in January. He chose to collect monetary donations and toys for our Bright Holidays program.
