SF: My wife and I moved here to Denver six years ago to be with our son and his family.
Q: What volunteer role do you have with JFS, and what roles have you had with JFS?
SF: I started volunteering in the food pantry and worked on a limited project in file maintenance upstairs.
Q: What motivated you to begin volunteering with JFS?
SF: After my wife passed away, I needed something to occupy my time. I’ve always been into volunteering, and the mission of feeding the hungry has always been important to me.
Q: What's your favorite part about volunteering with JFS, and how has being a JFS volunteer impacted your life?
SF: Volunteering at JFS is such a positive experience. The vast majority of the clients are so appreciative of what we do for them. My fellow volunteers are always so friendly. Volunteering is something I look forward to.
Q: What would you say to someone considering volunteering with JFS?
SF: Try it, you’ll like it! No, seriously, what do you have to lose? If you don’t like it, just don’t come back, but I think you will.
