JFS Responds to Nonprofit Layoffs with Career Coaching Program
Free program empowers metro Denver nonprofit professionals with resume support, interview preparation, and personalized career planning.
In response to the growing number of nonprofit professionals facing layoffs, Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) has launched a new career coaching program specifically designed for individuals who have recently lost their jobs in the nonprofit sector. Funded by The Denver Foundation, the program is free to eligible participants and offers one-on-one, personalized support to help professionals move forward.
Participants must be residents of metro Denver (Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, or Jefferson County), previously employed by a nonprofit organization, and laid off on or after January 1, 2025. Support services include resume support, cover letter coaching, interview preparation, workshops, and more.
“Nonprofit professionals dedicate their careers to serving others. This program is about serving them,” said Heather Seiden, JFS senior program manager, career services. “We’re proud to offer targeted support that helps these individuals rebuild with confidence and regain their footing.”
The initiative underscores JFS’s commitment to strengthening Colorado’s workforce by helping people navigate periods of transition with dignity, compassion, and practical tools for success.
“We’re so thrilled to support this program,” says Dace West, chief impact officer at The Denver Foundation. “No one wants to think about people losing their jobs, but we know that too many nonprofits are being forced to cut staff. Let’s work together to support them and help them find their next job.”
