JFS Food Pantries to Support Furloughed Government Employees During Shutdown

In response to the current federal government shutdown, Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) is here to assist furloughed workers with immediate services and resources, such as food and mental health support.

Individuals who have been furloughed or are working without pay due to the current government shutdown can visit our Weinberg Food Pantry and Mobile Food & Hygiene Pantry and receive other JFS resources for the duration of the closure. All recipients must register for services at jewishfamilyservice.org/services/denver-food-pantry and provide their federal identification and proof of address.

JFS mental health services are available for those experiencing stress or anxiety related to the shutdown by calling 720.722.4496.

“JFS is proud to be a resource for furloughed federal government employees during the shutdown,” said JFS President & CEO Linda Foster. “Our food pantries, mental health counseling, and other programs are available to provide support to those in need during this challenging time."

For those not located near JFS, individuals can contact Hunger Free Colorado at 855.855.4626 to find a nearby food pantry or other food resources.
