Helping a Family Find a Place to Call Home

family in their new home

The Rapid Re-Housing program at JFS is reducing homelessness in the Denver metro area by quickly moving individuals and families into permanent housing. The goal of the program is to help people choose homes and ensure that they don’t become homeless again.

Through this program, we recently helped a single dad with three children under the age of 10 find housing for the family. They were living in transitional housing while looking for something permanent. The client faced financial barriers, with a monthly income of $1,233.

JFS was able to work with a landlord partner to find permanent housing before the temporary housing ran out. On December 16, right before the holidays, the family moved into a townhome. They are so happy to have a place with a fenced-in yard to call home.
