Program Specialist—Full Time

This position assists in the program management of approximately 70 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities enrolled in the Pre-Vocational, Supported Employment, Day Habilitation and/or Supported Community Connections at the SHALOM Denver location of Jewish Family Service (JFS). Provides case management and direct support to individuals served.


  1. Education: Associate or Bachelor Degree in social work or human services-related field.
  2. Experience: 2 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred. Knowledge of Colorado Developmental Disabilities system.
  3. Ability to work effectively in collaborative team environment. Knowledge of community resources which provide/promote supporting services. Excellent customer skills with a diverse population. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Must have own vehicle, clean motor vehicle record, valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

General Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with individuals in services, as well as their Inter-Disciplinary Team Members to develop Person Centered Plans and individual service and support plans (ISSPs) for each person served.
  • Coordinate with residential team and facilitate the development and ongoing updating of protocols.
  • Assist with client referral, enrollment and termination process.
  • Screen JFSRFP inbox and send referrals to appropriate manager.
  • Liaison to interdisciplinary team. Represent SHALOM at IDT and SPs. Facilitate coordination of services.
  • File management - semi-annual reviews of individual files.
  • Assist with reaching out to Service Coordinators at the Community Centered Boards to request revisions when necessary.
  • Oversee Employee Consumer Council. Schedule, develop agenda, facilitate meetings, pass recommendations onto Management team.
  • Provide staff coverage as needed.
