Jewish Family Service (JFS) is seeking a Development Manager to support and manage the fundraising, events and administrative efforts of the seven-person Development team. About the Development Manager (DM)

As a key member of the JFS Development team, this position serves as project manager to ensure effective implementation and reporting of all development strategies, activities, appeals, tactics and timelines. The DM reports directly to the Chief Development Officer and supports the fundraising efforts of four relationship managers, communications efforts of three marketing professionals, and general administrative duties for the entire Development team. This position requires considerable attention to detail, a collaborative work style, technology-based project management, and ability to manage many projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Development team project manager to oversee the implementation and reporting of all development strategies, activities, appeals, tactics and timelines
  • Support the Chief Development Officer
  • Manage and implement annual donor acknowledgment and recognition plan
  • Provide grants management administrative support
  • Oversee Data Manager
  • Oversee all Development-specific volunteers and JFS staff supports
  • Manage car donation program
  • Manage tribute program
  • Maintain and organize supply inventory and ordering for the team
  • Assist with event logistics as needed for signature fundraising, cultivation and appreciation events
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Development phone calls and general inquiries
  • Staff and assist at JFS events as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in project management and administrative support
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in nonprofit fundraising and development, preferred
  • Experience managing others, preferred
  • Expert experience with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, preferred

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, board, and community members and organizations
  • Optimistic attitude and flexibility in a changing work environment
