JFS Job Club Support Group Begins January 9

JFS Job Club Support Group Begins January 9

Heather Seiden, Jewish Family Service (JFS) employment case manager, is starting a JFS Job Club beginning Monday, January 9. It is a FREE support group for all jobseekers to connect, share, learn from, and support each other throughout the job search process. Participants will learn creative job searching and professional communication skills, as well as how to manage emotions surrounding job loss. For many, isolation is the hardest part of the job search process and studies show that people become more focused and successful when they have group support. Heather will lead discussions on how to prepare, organize, and execute a successful job search in a supportive, structured, and collaborative environment.

The Job Club will meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Jewish Family Service, 3201 South Tamarac Drive in Denver. People are welcome to join whenever they want. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.

Discussion topics will include:

  • First Impressions
  • Communication Skills
  • Time Management/Organization Skills
  • Self-Care
  • Marketing Yourself
  • Networking
  • Online Job Search Tools
  • Social Media
  • Resumes/Cover Letters
  • Interview Preparation
  • How to Succeed once you have the Job
