Gloria FobbGloria Fobb, 47, has a simple dream. She wants to get a job and earn a living—on her own. Thanks to support from SHALOM Denver’s Supported Employment program, Gloria’s dream just became a reality. She was hired as a laundry attendant at a large Denver hotel and she couldn’t be happier.

Congratulations to 2018 Max Frankel Volunteers of the Year

Mady Kassanoff and Stephen Green were honored as the Jewish Family Service Max Frankel Volunteers of the Year at the Celebrate JFS event on June 18. Mady and Stephen are both retired librarians, a couple who share a deep sense of caring for those in our community who need a hand. Lucky for us, they chose JFS as one of the places to devote their time and energy.

Circle Talk: Enter as Strangers and Leave as Friends

If someone gave you a million dollars to spend on yourself, how would you spend it? If you could give it away to make the world a better place, to whom would you give it? These are the types of questions that older adults explore together in Circle Talk. This program creates a safe space for older adults to have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most to them. Circle Talk draws connections between group members’ life experiences, giving them the chance to speak to the real moments that shape their lives and sense of self.
