Are you inspired to make an immediate and positive impact on your community? Here are five ways you can assist our refugee clients in the metro Denver area. If you have questions, please email us at  volunteer@jewishfamilyservice.org.

Create Toiletry Bags

Purchase and pack full-sized toiletries in gallon Ziploc bags. Each bag should include the following items:

  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste
  • One toothbrush
  • Bar soap
  • Disposable razor

Other items that can be added as the bag size permits (bag must be able to close):

  • Conditioner
  • Mouthwash
  • Dental floss
  • Lip balm
  • Shaving cream

Create Hygiene Bags

Purchase and pack the following feminine hygiene products in gallon Ziploc bags:

  • Sanitary pads
  • Panty liners
  • Personal cleansing wipes (optional) 

Bundle Diapers

Collect or purchase bulk diapers and bundle them in packs of six with rubber bands, labeling each bundle with the size. We are also in need of baby wipes; please feel free to provide packages along with bundled diapers. 


Provide Cleaning Products

Purchase plastic household buckets and full-sized cleaning supplies. Each bucket should be filled with a selection of some of the following items:

  • Disinfecting liquid cleanser (such as Lysol)
  • Multi-surface cleaner
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Dish soap
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dryer sheets
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Sponges
  • Dish cloths
  • Garbage bags


Provide Paper Products

Purchase household paper products and pack easy-to-carry boxes or bags with at least one each of the following items:

  • Paper towels
  • Package of napkins
  • 4-pack of toilet paper
  • Tissue box
