Leanna Harris

Established upon her retirement in 2016, the Yana Vishnitsky Leadership Award is a testament to Yana’s selfless contributions to JFS during her 16-year tenure as president and CEO. She tripled the agency’s budget, significantly expanded services, and led successful capital campaigns for its current buildings. She touched hundreds of thousands of lives throughout our community and her impact continues to this day.

Leanna Harris embodies Yana’s commitment to public service and to those in need in our community. A long time JFS supporter, Leanna has served on the JFS Board of Directors since 2015 and is the immediate past Board Chair. In addition, she volunteers at the Weinberg Food Pantry.

Leanna is an author and educational consultant with Diane Sweeney Consulting, where she partners with teachers and schools from around the country to improve instruction and student achievement.

Leanna has an MA in Education from the University of Colorado at Denver and an undergraduate degree in Theology from Georgetown University. She also has a Certificate in Sustainability Leadership and Implementation from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver--environmental sustainability being her passion when not thinking and learning about kids, teachers, and schools.

She and her husband, Jamie, have three children.

Joyce and Kal Zeff Humanitarian Award

The Joyce and Kal Zeff Humanitarian Award is named for two legendary community leaders, who during their lifetimes were instrumental in JFS’s growth, stability, and impact. Joyce and Kal Zeff were deeply committed to Jewish Family Service and those in need in our community.
