Employment Cultural Orientation for Refugees and Newcomers

Cultural Orientation is a free virtual workshop available to refugees and newcomers who are ready to start their employment journey in the US. Through this workshop, participants will understand more about expectations and cultural norms in the workplace. Topics include:

  • Job search strategies and interview tips.

  • Employment documents and onboarding.

  • Workplace expectations and your rights.

  • US workplace cultural norms.

Who Should Attend:

  • Refugees and newcomers preparing to or already working in the US.

  • Staff and case managers who support newcomers.

This is a 2-hour workshop that is offered monthly, in English, and interpretation in various languages.

  • April 14 - with Spanish interpretation

  • May 19 - with Ukrainian & Russian interpretation

  • June 16 - with Pashto & Dari interpretation

  • July 14 - with Arabic intrepretation

La Orientación Cultural es un taller virtual gratuito disponible para refugiados y personas recién llegadas que están listas para comenzar su camino laboral en los Estados Unidos. A través de este taller, los participantes comprenderán mejor las expectativas y normas culturales en el lugar de trabajo. Los temas incluyen:

  • Estrategias de búsqueda de empleo y consejos para entrevistas.

  • Documentos laborales y procesos de incorporación.

  • Expectativas en el lugar de trabajo y sus derechos.

  • Normas culturales del entorno laboral en EE. UU.

  • Refugiados y personas recién llegadas que se están preparando para trabajar o que ya trabajan en los Estados Unidos.

  • Personal y administradores de casos que apoyan a personas recién llegadas.

Este es un taller de 2 horas que se ofrece mensualmente, en inglés, con interpretación disponible en varios idiomas.
