Shout-out to our volunteers!

At JFS, we often talk about how we could not do what we do without the work of our volunteers. It’s not a secret that JFS has some of the most dedicated and compassionate volunteers any organization could hope to have. On a daily basis, our volunteers’ efforts can be seen and felt throughout the organization and community.

While we appreciate our volunteers every day, during National Volunteer Appreciation Week, which is April 17 through 23, this remarkable group of people deserves to be recognized for their impact and celebrated for their commitment to JFS.

In our last fiscal year, 1,671 volunteers donated their time, which equaled 24,162 hours of service to help in all areas of the organization—and we could not be more thankful for that! It’s not an exaggeration to say that our volunteers are one of JFS’s most valuable assets!

Volunteers come in every day ready to make a difference and give back to the Denver and Boulder communities. Delivering much-needed food and supplies to homebound adults, becoming a buddy with an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities, creating a friendship with an older adult to prevent social isolation, helping clients select items in our food pantry, and so much more. While we may not know what brought someone to JFS, we do know our volunteers provide the support they need to become self-sufficient.

“JFS volunteers are a tremendous resource for our organization,” said Chief Advancement Officer Jessica Zeidman. “Volunteers work tirelessly to help clients in programs across JFS, participate on our Board, raise funds, and so much more. They make such a meaningful impact, and we are so thankful for their efforts as part of our JFS family.”

Our gratitude for our volunteers is immense during National Volunteer Appreciation Week and beyond.
