JFS Receives $75,000 Grant from Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation
Denver, CO (October 9, 2025) – Jewish Family Service (JFS) has received a $75,000 grant from the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation to support the JFS Weinberg Food Pantry and the Mobile Food and Hygiene Pantry. This funding will help support the annual distribution of more than 700,000 meals to adults and children experiencing food insecurity across metro Denver.
JFS pantries operate under a choice model, allowing clients to select their own food based on their needs and preferences. This personalized approach respects cultural and dietary differences. However, JFS faces challenges in meeting the growing demand in the community, particularly with a 20% increase in food costs.
“We are grateful to the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation for its commitment to serving the community and providing critical food support,” said Linda P. Foster, president and CEO of JFS. “This grant will ensure families receive the high-quality, nutritious food they need to thrive.”
The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation is dedicated to transforming lives in profoundly positive ways through grants focused on health, youth and family, and animal welfare. By maintaining the focus of their work on their mission, they hope to enrich lives by providing the resources needed to lead full and healthy lives. The Foundation believes in working with organizations in their focus areas, like JFS, to create opportunity, have community impact, and promote well-being.
