Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) Awarded Funding for Emergency Rental Assistance

The City and County of Denver Department of Housing Stability (HOST) has awarded Jewish Family Service $3,502,208 from the US Department of Treasury to disperse over the course of 15 months. The funds will be utilized for JFS’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program. JFS will provide financial assistance for current and in arrears rental, utility, and other housing related expenses for approximately 293 eligible households that are unable to pay due to COVID-19 related causes.

Eligible households may receive up to 12 months of assistance, plus an additional three months if it’s determined the extra months are needed to ensure housing stability and grantee funds are available.

To access this funding, Denverites need to complete the application at Denvergov.org/RentAssistance

JFS president and CEO Linda Foster says, “We are so appreciative of this funding from the City of Denver, especially during the ongoing pandemic. This valuable partnership allows JFS to serve hundreds of families in preventing homelessness. Together we are responding to the current needs of the community with this rental assistance and other services that JFS can provide to help individuals and families recover and become more self-sufficient.”
