Overflowing hearts, full tables, and an abundance of thanks
A huge thank you to our partner organizations, volunteers, staff, and donors who made this year’s Thanksgiving meal distribution possible! The holiday may be over, but thanks to everyone’s generosity, the spirit of the day will live on.
We shared the comfort of Thanksgiving with our neighbors who could benefit from a little extra support this holiday—a time when homes are warmed by friends and family, when we reflect, show gratitude, and share kindness. Thanksgiving brings hope, which is especially important when challenges and uncertainty surround us, and the need for food assistance continues to rise, making a memorable meal an impossible reality for too many in our community.
Our community is touched by your generosity, which allowed us to serve nearly 400 households, bringing traditional Thanksgiving food to at least 956 individuals and providing more than 7,810 meals. Homebound older adults in Denver and Boulder received complete meals delivered, while others were welcomed at JFS to pick up food boxes. In total, 2,626 pounds of turkey were enjoyed!
We were supported by 21 staff helpers and 40 volunteers this year! We were also grateful to receive 20 shopping carts from Target to borrow for the day, which made a big difference in helping things run smoothly!
It’s fulfilling to see our community come together to make days brighter for those who need a hand-up this Thanksgiving and beyond! Thank you to everyone involved!
