Financial Assistance Application
Jewish Family Service (JFS) provides limited financial assistance and case management to individuals and families in the Denver Metro area who are at risk of eviction or foreclosure due to financial hardship or an emergency. If you are a renter or homeowner experiencing a sudden loss of income, unexpected expenses, or another urgent hardship, you may be eligible for help. Assistance is funded by a variety of grants, each with different eligibility rules. This means not all applicants will qualify or receive the same level of support. Please know that demand is extremely high and funding is very limited. We are typically able to assist fewer than five households per month, yet we receive many more applications than we can fulfill. To manage this fairly, we use a randomized review process each month. This means that completing the application does not guarantee assistance, and some eligible households may not be selected for review due to limited capacity. We encourage all applicants to also contact Mile High United Way’s 2-1-1 Helpline to explore other local programs that may be able to assist.
Before You Begin: Required Documents
To be considered, you must upload the following documents:
Photo ID for all adults in the household
Current rent or mortgage ledger showing balance due
Proof of income for the past 1 month (if no income, we will need bank statements or your tax returns)
Signed lease
Eviction or demand notice
Please note:
We receive far more applications than we are able to fund. Submitting an application, even if you meet all eligibility criteria, does not guarantee assistance.
To ensure fairness, we use a randomized selection process to choose a small number of applicants from both internal referrals and the general public. For this round, we anticipate being able to assist fewer than 5 households.
You will receive an update on your application status within 3 to 5 business days after your completed application has been reviewed.
