Shepard Nevel was selected as Jewish Family Service of Colorado’s (JFS) new president and CEO, succeeding Yana Vishnitsky, who is retiring after serving in the role for the past 16 years. JFS’s Board Search Committee conducted a wide-ranging national search for the agency’s new leader and came to a unanimous choice. Nevel is currently the president and CEO of LiveWell Colorado, where he has strengthened core functions, diversified funding and other revenue opportunities, and refocused the mission on underserved populations and the social determinants of health. He will join JFS on December 5.
Dan Stratton, 68, lives comfortably at the Edgewater Plaza Apartments. The apartment complex in the heart of Edgewater offers subsidized housing for 86 low-income older adults. It’s also the headquarters for JFS’s Colorado Senior Connections, a Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC), which provides vital services to seniors where they live.
